Go slow.
Stay wide.
Don’t chase.
I first heard these words last summer at a retreat with
in Vermont. They rewired something in me.
I write them in my journal.
I whisper them on walks.
They soften how I speak.
They remind me that I don’t know.
They grab me before I push too hard.
Here’s my take:
Go slow.
Feel your feet.
Give it time to emerge.
Stay wide.
Take in the whole.
Notice more before you speak, move.
Don’t chase.
The likes.
The people.
The outcome.
Sit with one of these instructions.
Put it on repeat.
And let the meaning emerge.
✨If this sparked something…
Send it to someone who might like it. It’s the best compliment you can pay me. And it helps more than you know.
Slow down are two words That have always triggered an immediate negative visceral response in me. Probably because my entire life I was “accelerated” - a term that Now translates into the diagnosis of ADHD. But I like the way this statement frames the message. it allows me to slow down, but remain expansive. Thank you.
Yes
I feel this
When emotion and worry creep in
Go slow
When I a panicking for a solution
Go wide - there are many ways
Don’t Chase
And don’t settle
If it doesn’t feel right or forces it probably is not right for me
