Sundays on Sparked: Pause and Reset

Weekdays are for action. Sundays are for slowing down.

If you often feel overwhelmed, start here:

Find your feet.

Place them flat on the floor. Press into your big toes, then your pinky toes, and finally your heels. Feel the full surface of your feet on the ground.

This simple act grounds you.

It aligns your body. It steadies your mind.

Why does it work?

Because your feet are the furthest part of your body from your busy mind.

Shifting your attention downward pulls you out of overthinking and into the present moment.

When life feels chaotic, finding your feet helps you break free from distraction.

Over time, it becomes second nature—a subtle switch to bring you back to stable ground.

I’ve shared this practice with everyone—from yoga students to athletes. When I trained the Villanova football and basketball teams, I reminded them constantly: When doubt creeps in, find your feet.

Why? Because when your body is stable, your mind follows.
