This brought to mind something ancient and striking: during Roman triumphal parades, when a general returned victorious, a slave would stand behind him in the chariot and whisper, “Memento mori”—remember you will die. A reminder, in the height of glory and adoration, of his mortality. That he was not a god. That life is fleeting. A grounding gesture, much like "feet planted, eyes steady"—pulling us back from ego, distraction, or overwhelm, and anchoring us in the present with humility and clarity. Fantastic post.
