There's Power In Silence And Soup
Spark #69 - Simple ideas to reduce stress and boost confidence in daily life
On Overwhelm.
I woke up at 4 a.m.—mind spinning, heart racing. Too much to do, too many thoughts. There was no way I was falling back asleep.
Lying there, I had two choices: stay stuck in my head or take back control.
So, I set two simple intentions.
1. Cut the noise.
No wonder I felt wired and tired—news, emails, social media, endless to-dos. My brain was on overdrive.
Today, I’m shutting it down.
Less scrolling.
Less input.
More space.
Phone’s off.
I’m heading outside.
Even a little quiet goes a long way.
2. Make soup.
Cooking slows me down. Grounds me. Reminds me I’m here.
Chop. Stir. Breathe. My kitchen fills with slow, steady warmth.
What’s your version of soup?
A walk? A book? Staring at the sky?
Whatever it is, make space for it.
The world can pull us in a million directions. But we don’t have to follow. You get to make it up.
