There Are No Ducks. There Is No Row.
Spark #60 - A mindset shift to let go of control and start living
If I could just get my ducks in a row.
If I could just figure it out.
If I could be in control, I’d be happy.
Good luck with that.
I used to think this way. Running a busy yoga studio. Raising kids. Managing life. I wanted everything in order—controlled, predictable.
For years, I believed I just needed to organize more, plan better. But no matter how much I tried, life kept throwing curveballs.
Kids got sick. Storms rolled in. People canceled. Plans fell apart.
Yet we tell ourselves we just need to figure it out first. Get organized. Be ready. Then we’ll focus on ourselves, find a new job, write the book.
But what if that moment never comes?
What if waiting to figure it out is exactly what’s keeping you stuck?
I hear it all the time from the women I coach:
I just need to get a handle on this first.
I’ll start when things settle down.
After the holidays. After the summer.
But things never settle down.
Life keeps moving. If you’re waiting for the perfect moment, you’ll be waiting forever.
There’s no final piece to the puzzle. No perfect time.
When I finally realized this, I loosened my grip. I let go of control. I allowed plans to shift, people to be unpredictable, life to be messy.
You can do this too.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you go after what you want.
Stop chasing perfect. Start now.
There are no ducks. There is no row.
P.S. Letting go of control isn’t easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. I can help you break free from the patterns that keep you stuck. Schedule a call.

Love this, Cara. Our being present in each of our moments is the row (or the path). We can take short pauses and notice our small wins throughout each day.
Just keep taking those little steps forward. That’s all we need to do ❤️
