This is so smart. And I do this too - overexplain. I'm taking your lead and wearing a suit too.

I wish I had read this before I sent last night‘s email to my boss!

Oh funny Pam.

Is it overexplaining to make others comfortable or overexplaining to make yourself comfortable?

Cara Bradley's avatar

Very good question Jeffrey. For me it’s both.

You wear them well!! Great post, Cara. Happy Friday.

Ha! Thanks Mark. I haven’t worn an actual suit since I was 23. A really long time ago.

Agree 💯! Over explaining is unnecessary and exhausting……working on it!

I would say you’ve quite mastered it my friend.

Love this post. I'm always explaining to everyone who will listen what the next phase of my life is going to be, although how could I even know? It hasn't happend yet, it is simply happening.

Shaddup and enjoy the ride.

Your comment made me chuckle. I’m with you… shut up and enjoy the ride!

Pleasing can be another motivation for over-explaining.

For sure Hanno.

It's true Cara, if you can have confidence in your decisions you don't have to explain them or feel obliged to do so.

I'll add that in my case I'm not going to explain why I'm investing in some new hobbies.
