You’re drowning in to-dos.
Pulled in every direction.
The pressure never lets up.
I feel it too.
Right now, I’m with my mom. She’s 88.
My list is screaming at me—writing, emails, schedules.
Then, in the shower, a whisper cuts through the chaos:
It can wait, Cara. It can all wait.
Close the laptop. Put down the phone.
Be here. Eyes up. Heart open.
The rest of your life can wait.
Powerful reminder. It's so easy to get in a hurry for .... what? A hit of dopamine for checking a notification or doing something "productive"? Glad you were able to BE THERE
I remember when my mom was in nursing care. She wouldn't be able to see me until around 9:30. So I made myself get to 6am yoga. Showered, ate and then went to see her. That way I was fully there for her. I was grounded and present for her. I am thankful for those visits.
