How Will You Show Courage Today?
Spark #21 - Motivational messages to start your day steady and ready
How will you show courage today?
For years, I’ve wrestled with the fear of not living up to my potential—of leaving this world with more to give. That fear still sits with me. Every single day, I choose to face it head-on.
It’s why I started writing these Sparks. I won’t let fear hold me back or shut me down.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best: Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s the willingness to act in spite of it.
Courage is doing what’s right, even when your voice shakes.
I still feel fear—fear of falling short—but I show up anyway. My voice trembles sometimes, but I keep going because I know my work isn’t done. There’s still more to give.
Writing these Sparks is how I face my fear. It’s my daily reminder to show up, speak truth, and stand steady—even when it’s hard.
So today, in honor of Dr. King, I’ll ask you:
Where can you show up despite your fear?
In a hard conversation?
For something that matters to you?
By taking that first step you’ve been avoiding?
Don’t let fear win. Face it. Show up. Even if your voice shakes.
P.S. And don’t forget, I believe in you. You have more in you than you realize. If you need a personalized nudge, let’s have a conversation.
