Clean the Drawer. Free Your Mind.
Spark #131 - How physical clutter takes up mental space and what to do about it.
The mental weight of stuff
After twelve years in that house, we sold it.
Just like that. Packed it all up and moved into a small apartment.
We gave most of it away.
Furniture. Tools. Holiday decorations.
And kept a few things in storage.
One Sunday, I sat alone in that new space.
It was clean. Quiet.
Everything was in its place.
It was disorienting.
There were no piles to step over.
No corners whispering, Fix me.
And that’s when it hit me.
Less stuff means fewer things pulling at you.
Less noise.
Less guilt.
Less of that “need to do” in the back of your mind.
You don’t have to move to feel this.
But clearing stuff out helps.
Start small.
One drawer.
One shelf.
One pile.
Make space in your home
to make space in your mind.

Wow I really like that one.
Such a perfectly timed reminder. I am working on this room by room and it feels amazing!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
