‘Multi-tasking’ is a fantasy. We are simply not wired for it.

Look forward to your messages!

This is such a great reminder. I'm the multi-tasking queen. Even this morning when talking to a friend on my phone I had to fold the laundry, put the dishes away, and then work on my puzzle. Come on - I need to slow down and focus.

Thank you for your honesty. Most of us do this.

Wow, I felt this one this morning. Beautiful reminder, Cara. I was doing an ADHD teen consult. The child didn't like the meds because they 'couldn't do other things'. It took a while to get to the bottom of what they meant. Turns out they were talking about multi-tasking. Such a young age to fully have the message 'we aren't doing enough'! What a gift, the gift of self. 🙏🏻

Guilty as charged sometimes Cara :(

My husband gets I'm on Substack a lot writing and connecting--he calls it "stacking."

I do hate at times when I could swear I listened and heard something he said, and then I'll say something as an observation like it was new, and he looks at me and says "I just said that before." Oops!

That's when I realize I've gone too far and need to close the laptop or turn the phone over.
