We move in the direction we’re looking. When we focus on the past, we get stuck. But shifting our gaze forward opens us to new possibilities.
In my last post, Closing Chapters, I shared how looking back has weighed me down. It’s had me asking: Where am I looking?
Now I ask you—are you looking back or moving forward?
Where are you looking?
The key is catching those moments when we slip into old habits and gently shifting our focus ahead. The good from the past stays with us; there’s no need to keep revisiting it.
Ready to shift your focus? Here are three simple steps:
Awareness: Notice when you’re dwelling on the past without judgment.
Journaling: Write down, Where am I looking? and reflect.
Redirect: When you catch yourself looking back, shift forward.
Small steps can help you break free from the past and open doors to what’s next.
Thank you, Cara. I love your posts. xx
