Recently, my blood work showed high antibodies, pointing to a potential autoimmune disease. My doctor recommended I give up gluten for 12 weeks and then retest.
My initial reaction? “Wow, that’s going to be really hard.”
And let’s be honest—hard things are just that, hard.
Yet here I am, several weeks in, realizing that facing hard challenges is like building a muscle—you grow stronger with every effort. What once felt overwhelming and uncomfortable, like giving up gluten, now feels surprisingly manageable. In fact, it’s been freeing. I've gained clarity on what I should and shouldn't eat, and I’m taking proactive steps to safeguard my health.
While it hasn't been easy, it’s also not as daunting as I initially feared.
This experience has made me think about other challenges I’ve been avoiding. What other “hard things” could be affecting my well-being or holding me back from reaching my full potential?
How about you? What’s that hard thing you know you need to face?
How about you? What’s that hard thing you know you need to face?
Whether it’s related to your health, relationships, or personal growth, addressing it could be the key to experiencing a whole new you.
I’m learning that facing hard things is transformative. It’s like climbing a mountain—each step makes the summit feel closer and more attainable.
So if something has been gnawing at you, I encourage you to take that first step. Set a goal, give yourself a timeline, and move forward one step at a time.
If I can give up gluten, I believe I can handle other challenges too.
And so can you.
What once seemed impossible might just become a powerful step toward a healthier, happier life.
