Sundays on Sparked: Pause and Reset

Weekdays are for action. Sundays are for slowing down.

Sky Gazing.

(Adapted from my book On The Verge: Wake Up, Show Up, and Shine)

Sky gazing helps clear the mental clutter so you can feel present and centered.

Try it whenever you can look out a window or, even better, sit outside. Day or night.

  1. Get comfortable. Sit or lie down. Set a timer for at least five minutes. Close your eyes and take three deep breaths.

  2. Focus on your breath. Gently notice your exhalations. No need to force it—just observe.

  3. Look at the sky. Softly focus on the sky. Let your gaze wander without fixating on anything specific.

  4. Release tension. With each exhale, imagine releasing thoughts or tension into the open sky. If your mind drifts, gently return to your breath.

  5. Feel the space. Rest in the stillness around you. When you’re ready, take a deep breath and slowly transition back to your day.
