Make The Commitment
Spark #324 - The moment I stop bargaining with myself
Some days I can feel myself slipping.
Putting things off.
Making quiet little deals with myself.
Later.
Tomorrow.
After this week.
That’s when I need to draw a line.
I need to commit.
Commitment is deciding once
instead of deciding all day.
It ends the negotiations.
Today I commit to:
Two hours of deep work with my phone off
No sloppy snacking
Fifteen minutes of hip mobility. At 61, this is non-negotiable.
I said I’d do it.
So today, I do it.
✨ One thing. What are you committing to today?

Later never comes, and we often need to be reminded of this valuable insight.
Oh but Cara, first I must sit here and watch the bird feeder, then watch the grass grow and possibly count the clouds!! Hip mobility is just too much!! 😝. I can come up with excuses all day long!!
