Eat The Ugly Frog First
Spark #72 - Do this when doubt, distractions, and busywork steal your day
If your energy tanks by lunchtime, try this.
Eat the ugly frog first.
Tackle the hardest, most important task before distractions creep in or doubt takes over.
Mark Twain put it best:
If you eat a live frog first thing in the morning, nothing worse will happen the rest of the day.
In other words, face the tough stuff early, and everything else feels easier.
I try to do this every morning. My ugly frogs? A proposal, marketing copy, or posting on social media (ugh).
Yours might be different, but the rule stays the same.
Get it done first.
Waiting too long or getting lost in busywork drains focus—and courage.
Doubt creeps in, and suddenly, the opportunity slips away.
Do it before your mind stalls your progress.
Eat the ugly frog first.
Then ride that wave of accomplishment all day.

I always follow this strategy. It's similar to working out first thing in the morning. After accomplishing it, you feel like you've already been productive and done something for yourself. It's a great strategy that I always recommend to my clients - especially the ones who want to procrastinate.
I've been trying to adopt this practice as well. Marketing, which is necessary, is also my ugly frog! Thank you!
