You're Doing It Again
Spark #334 - How to stop carrying old stories with you.
You know the story.
You’ve told it a hundred times. To others. To yourself. Late at night when you can’t sleep.
It’s the one about what happened. What they did. What you should have done differently.
And somewhere in the middle of telling it again, you catch yourself.
Dang it. You’re telling it again.
The story isn’t wrong. It happened.
But you’ve been carrying it with you for too long. And it’s holding you back.
Most of us don’t realize we’re doing it. We think we’re sharing or processing.
Sometimes we are.
And sometimes the story is just on repeat.
The story belongs in the past. You don’t have to keep bringing it with you.
No shame. Just keep noticing. That’s usually enough.
✨There’s power in sharing. Name it. What story needs to go? Comment below.

This advice is worth its weight in gold. Invent a new story to tell about how happy, successful and at peace you are.
This absolutely lands, Cara. I’m trying to be more intentional about disconnecting from old stories that keep me or someone else stuck in an old version of ourselves.
