The Chase Is Finally Over
Spark #351 - When "I don't know" felt like relief.
I was with my best friends from high school recently. We took turns recapping our lives. Kids. Aging parents. What we were doing these days.
When it was my turn, one friend asked what I was up to.
My answer surprised me.
I don’t know.
The old Cara would have had something ready. A project, a new business, anything that sounded like I had a plan. Like I was still chasing that definition of success.
But I said I don’t know and it didn’t feel like failure.
It felt like relief.
I’m less defined these days. Calmer. Slower.
My work is not done.
But the chase finally is.
✨P.S. I write Tuesdays and Fridays now.

Cara, I admire you for being willing to be so transparent in your answer.
No pressure. Just confidence that you're doing what's right for you at this time.
Feel the same way...my work is not done, but chasing "the next thing" is! We no longer need to be defined by the things we are doing, and we don't need to know what that is to feel/be successful.
