Yesterday morning the world left me alone.
And I belonged only to myself.
I sank down.
Into my body.
Into my breath.
I heard a different voice.
It sounded like mine.
It felt kinder. Wiser.
I met myself there.
The morning the world left me alone.
That quiet was waiting for me.
It had been seeking me out.
It wanted to find me.
But I had to be willing.
To slow down.
No, to stop everything.
And listen.
Ask the world to leave you alone.
For just a few moments.
To belong only to you.
And watch what happens.

P.S. More simple truths land every Tuesday.

Hi Cara!! You were greatly missed during your month of discovery. I used to want to ‘figure it out’ do I could be done seeking and just bask in the glory of ‘knowing’. 🤣 I’m incredibly grateful that the state of knowing doesn’t exist; and that we, if we desire, have the privilege of growth and change forever. As a dear friend of mine likes to remind me, “We will always be under construction!”
Thank you for this. Room to breathe, just for me. 🙏🏼 So lovely to see Sparked in the room. ❤️
